Education: Missouridou Evdokia holds a doctorate degree from the University of Manchester, UK. She also holds a Masters’ degree from the Nursing Department of the same university which has a long tradition in offering Mental Health Nursing Education courses. Additionally, she completed her education and supervised clinical practice in Systemic Family Therapy in 2009. In 2013, she completed a yearly orientation course in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She holds a degree from the Nursing Department of the University of West Attica, former TEI of Athens, where she currently serves as a Professor in Mental Health Nursing.
Academic Appointments: Evdokia Misouridou worked as a laboratory assistant at the University of West Attica, former TEI of Athens (1999-2013) and since 2013 she has served as a Lecturer and then as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nursing, University of West Attica. She has taught in higher education institutions at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.
Professional Experience: She has served at the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica from 1999 to 2013 where she was responsible for counseling / systemic psychotherapy of people with drug and alcohol addiction problems and their families.
Research Interests: Her research and writing interests include topics such as: Mental Health and Addiction Nursing, Psychology of Health and Illness, Trauma and Psychosocial Support, the therapeutic approach of individuals and families who face mental health problems, and the history of Nursing. She has published in prestigious Greek and international journals, conference proceedings, and has > 200 hetero-references in internationally recognized journals, doctoral and postgraduate theses.
